We loved having an igloo in 1/2J! We were hoping Mrs McArthur could turn it into an igloo from the North Pole for Christmas, however it was beginning to fall apart and become unsafe. The only thing we could do, as it was too big to fit through the door, was to break it apart and that called for a .... demolition party! We had such an awesome time kicking and pushing the igloo until it was broken into much smaller pieces.

This term, in Science, 1/2J are observing the growth of Mealworms. We are learning to describe the external features of a Mealworm and the changes we observe as they grow. To ensure a fair test we are keeping all variables the same (amount and type of food, type of container etc) except the temperature. We want to compare the difference between the growth of Mealworms kept in the classroom and Mealworms kept in the fridge. We obtained our Mealworms at the Larva stage. Did you know that Mealworms turn into Darkling Beetles? |
