Celebrations
In Term 4 we are studying celebrations. We will learn about celebrations from around the world including, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Easter, Eid, Halloween and more.
We worked in groups to paint some pictures of different celebrations to put on our bulletin board.

We also made our own Rangolis. Rangolis are beautiful geometric patterns used during Diwali to ward off evil spirits. People put them on the floor outside their front door to stop the spirits coming inside. They use coloured powder to make the intricate patterns. We scraped large pieces of chalk with scissors to create our own coloured powder.
Bush Mouse Shelters
As part of our HSIE unit 'The Need for Shelter', we collected materials to make a shelter for a Bush Mouse. We went onto the oval and gathered sticks, twigs, leaves and bark to make our shelters. When constructing our shelters we had to ensure the Bush Mouse would have shelter from weather, an entry and exit point and enough height for the mouse but not for any predators.
